So I missed the eclipse, but I saw a great moonrise

This moonrise was cool, you could hear the noise level in the city rise as the moon did; chanting and drumming and cheering. I have some great video of this as well. I'll post that later.

THe Elusive Playa Chicken

This person (hands in the picture) brings a chicken to Burning Man each year. Its wings are clipped and it is eating grass.

Go figure.

The Man--Before and After

The top picture was taken this morning after the man was burned in an act of arson. I took the lower picture on Monday night at about 9:45pm PDST. He is being rebuilt and the new man will rise in two days including neon.

Well ,it is only Tuesday and last night during the eclipse, Cybersatan, citing the radical self reliance and inclusion inherent in the Burning Man philosophy climbed the man and set fire to him. He burned to a cinder before the Black Rock City Fire Department was able to put him out. He stands as a skeleton. He is sufficiently impaired that he was pulled down today and another man is being constructed and will be raised during the week. He will burn again (officially) on Saturday night to wild celebration.

Population in Black Rock City is in the neighborhood of 25,000, we are sure to hit 40,000 +

The city is beautiful, the art is great, I'll post more pictures. Here are a few I've taken so far.

Burning Man
